Preparation for KAKAO SIGNATURE BLEND
1. Heat 8oz of hot water (or a mug-full) in a kettle or on the stovetop.
2. Bring water to a boil.
3. Add 4 tbsps of KAKAO to a blender that's safe for hot liquids.
4. Add the hot water and blend until creamy.
*If you do not have a blender that's safe for hot liquids, use a whisk. Please be careful when blending your KAKAO. Blending any hot liquid in a closed container causes the pressure within the container to increase. Make sure your blender is safe for hot liquids. A simple glass Oster blender works well. No one needs scolding hot cacao all over their face or countertop. Using a blender will ensure the creamiest consistency. Our favorite blenders to use are a Vitamix or a high quality immersion blender.
*We do not temper our drinking chocolate, meaning natural separation may occur.
Optional Additions:
- 1 tsp of maca powder
- 1 tsp of lucuma
- 1 tsp of coconut oil
- A pinch of cinnamon
- A pinch of cayenne (if you like it extra spicy)
*Our Signature Blend is made so that you don't have to add any other ingredients.
Preparation for KAKAO PURE
1. Heat 8oz of hot water (or a mug-full) in a kettle or on the stovetop.
2. Bring water to a boil.
3. Add 3-4 tbsps of KAKAO to a blender that's safe for hot liquids.
4. Add the hot water and blend with the following ingredients until creamy:
- Sweetener to taste (panela, coconut sugar, or raw local honey)
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- A pinch of cayenne powder
Optional Additions:
- 1 tsp of maca powder
- 1 tsp of lucuma
- 1 tsp of coconut oil
- A pinch of cinnamon
- An additional pinch of cayenne (if you like it extra spicy)
