Canada update Sept 2026

We recently turned off Canada shipping from the USA because around 10% of the orders were getting lost or stuck in customs — specifically the orders shipped via Global Post DDP. Global Post includes duties & tax pre-paid, however has had less success rate than UPS shipments.

While we have mostly had success, these lost packages are a significant financial loss for us, and of course a disappointment to the customers who never received their order.

FREE SHIPPING is also no longer available for Canada at this time.

If you still feel confident about placing an order from the USA, we can create a custom order for you.

Instructions for creating custom order:

1)  Send your order quantity, product type and correctly formatted address to team@flykakao.com. Include:

  • Full Name & email address
  • Address (properly formatted)
  • Criollo/Chuncho/Arhuaco? Size? Pure or Blend? Quantity?
  • UPS or Global Post DDP?

2) Please let us know if you would like Option a) Global Post DDP (Canada Post) with duties/tax pre-paid, or Option b)  UPS. UPS is quicker and more reliable, however you will likely have to pay duties/tax upon delivery.

Before placing your order, please note our shipping policy: If anything happens to your package in transit, it is strictly the responsibility of the customer to file a claim and attempt to obtain a refund. As a nonprofit organization, we are not in a position to be financially responsible for any lost product or incurred shipping costs.  We do everything we can to ensure timely and effective delivery of all KAKAO orders, as supporting our customers every step of the way is our top priority. Yet it is still the risk of the customer to place orders on our website, especially for international addresses.

In the meantime, we are working diligently to finalize our Canada import license so that we can restock within the country and re-launch shipping from Vancouver B.C.  We do not have an expected time at this point, as they keep pushing it back and leaving us without updates.
